Workshop: Introduction to Gelli Plate Printmaking

Instructor: Nancy Crasco

Using a gelatin plate (Gelli plate) printmaking process, students will create monoprints by using a variety of textured objects, plant materials, stencils, or by making marks or painting directly on the plate. All participants will begin by producing black and white prints, and colored ink will be introduced as they become familiar with the medium. This kitchen friendly, monoprint process uses non-toxic, water-based inks and acrylic paint.

Materials such as paper, acrylic paint and inks are included. Students are responsible for bringing a Gelli plate, 8x10 inches. Registered students will receive information on where to get plates prior to the workshop.
