Fiesta Saturdays

Celebrate the rhythm, energy, and joy of Latin culture at Fiesta Saturdays, a vibrant outdoor festival presented by the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets on Saturday, August 8 at 5:30 PM to enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring salsa music from Los Mambiseros and DJ Lola Vera, dance instruction, food and craft vendors, cocktails, and community celebration under the summer sky. 

NEW OUTDOOR LOCATION: The lawn outside the arbor of the Commander's Mansion, 440 Talcott Ave, Watertown, MA. The Commander's Mansion is located on our campus, just a short walk from our building. Parking in the East Garage remains convenient to the site.

 

Festival Schedule

5:00 PM – Festival Opens with food vendors, artisan vendors, concessions, and music by a live DJ 
5:30 PM – Community Dance Lesson 
6:30 PM – Featured Live Performance 
9:00 PM – Festival Close 

General Admission tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Super Supporter Tickets are $50 and include a special Fiesta Saturdays thank-you gift bag and a complimentary item from the Mosesian concessions stand. Children ages 12 and under attend free. 

Guests receive wristbands upon check in and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and make an evening of it. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the festival.

Rain or shine, the celebration goes on. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move indoors to the Charles Mosesian Theater at the Mosesian Center for the Arts.

Saturday, August 8: Los Mambiseros | 5:00 PM  (Tickets

Los Mambiseros is a Boston-based Traditional Cuban Music and Fusion project led by Cuban-American artist Christopher Carlos Montejo. The project’s mission is to share and celebrate Cuba’s folkloric culture, music, and dance. The group is a flexible trio-to-septet ensemble that focuses on traditional Cuban music, including Son, Rumba, Bolero, Changüí, Danzón, Cha-Cha-Cha, as well as experimental jazz and salsa. Lola Vera is a Boston-based Nuyorican DJ, event producer, artist, and mother. She has a strong interest in building community and spreading joy through music and art and can be found playing an eclectic range of genres from soul to breakbeats to salsa. She is a co-creator of the Stone Soup series of “open decks” events for DJs, and the Clubstation dance series at the Substation in Roslindale. Currently she can be heard spinning at various events at Spy Bar, Retro Room, the Early Birds Club and the Central on Air radio station.
