Join us for the September installment of the new season of the Open Mic series in the MCA lobby and art gallery! This is our first event of the third Open Mic season - and we are thrilled to be back! The September theme is “Home” — we invite you to think about places, times, communities and realities that make you feel at home. Perhaps you traveled the world and found your home in unexpected destinations, or perhaps every place is a home, as long as there are people there who support you. Who knows what new talents we'll discover this time?

We are happy to announce that this month’s feature is one of our favorite bands and community gems - Damian and the Displayers, bringing an electrifying, high-energy performance that blends heartfelt songwriting with a dynamic stage presence. Fresh off major gigs like The Whisky in LA, The Fiddler’s Elbow in London, and the New England Americana Festival at Bellforge, they will bring a sound that fuses alternative rock and indie pop (think the authenticity of Wilco meets the energy of The Killers), uplifting the room with positive vibes and heartfelt performance. 

The event is general admission, with some tables for sitting, some tables for standing, and maybe even a bit of a dance floor. Sign up to perform or come and enjoy the show on Wednesday, September 12. The doors open at 7:00 PM, and beer, wine, canned cocktails, soft drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase in our MBar throughout the show. Music starts at 7:30 PM!
