The Open Mic is back! Brighten your evening by joining us for the September installment of the new season of the Open Mic series in the MCA lobby and art gallery! The September theme is “Connections” — so as you prepare your act, you are welcome to ponder about reconnecting, relationships, breakups, breaks (Summer breaks?), family, friends, humanity, and how we get in touch with ourselves and others. Who knows what new talents we'll discover this time?
The show will be hosted by a wonderful friend, incredible comedian, and a long time Open Mic participant Danny Riordan. We are especially happy to announce that our feature act in September will be Sam Newcomer! Sam is a local singer-songwriter whose sound brings positive energy, lightness, and warmth with its folk storytelling, introspective mysticism and exquisite country popcraft - determined to bring joy and inspire a love of music in everyone.
The event is general admission, with some tables for sitting, some tables for standing, and maybe even a bit of a dance floor. Sign up to perform or come and enjoy the show on Wednesday, September 4. The doors open at 7:00 PM, and beer, wine, canned cocktails, soft drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase in our MBar throughout the show. Music starts at 7:30 PM!
If you are interested in performing, please fill out this form (which opens on August 15), and make sure to include accurate contact info.
$10 General Admission
If you have trouble providing the above suggested amount, please feel free to reach out to openmic@mosesianarts.org and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs. This is an inclusive event, and our goal is to provide accessibility to everyone who might want to participate.
