This season’s final concert with Berklee College of Music faculty artists features Associate Professor of Voice Cindy Scott. Audiences can expect a gospel-jazz-spring celebration featuring some of the sounds of Cindy’s beloved New Orleans.
Cindy’s technical mastery and deep commitment to lyrical expression have earned her fans worldwide. Originally hailing from Tupelo, Mississippi, Cindy has lived a life steeped in all forms of American roots music, jazz, gospel, and Southern soul. She came up in an extended family full of talented musicians and passionate educators and was singing parts at family jams at the age of two. Cindy also plays flute, bamboo flute, guitar, and hand percussion, and is a composer and lyricist.
Cindy came to Boston from New Orleans' rich music scene, and she continues to perform with A-list Big Easy musicians. She’s toured and performed through the United States and several countries. Appearances at festivals around the world, include the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (Louisiana), the Summer Solstice Festival (Michigan), the International Jazz Festival (Kazakhstan), the Festival Internacional Jazz de Verano (Mexico), and the North Sea Jazz Festival (the Netherlands), among others.
