CYC PROGRAM

Like a Cyclorama (or Cyc) curtain enclosing a stage to create a background, our CYC program serves as the basis for all technical theater and production work. Participants explore all aspects of technical and production-based theater, work alongside professional designers, and have the opportunity to lead a technical or production process for WCT programs. CYC participants also receive priority consideration to serve as crew members for season productions.

CYC Level 1 – Intro to Technical Theater

Registration opens August 5, 6 pm

From concept to performance, each aspect of technical theater plays a part in creating a dynamic production. Step behind the scenes and learn scenic painting techniques, design costume renderings and stage makeup, create light plots, Foley sound effects, props, and more. With this foundational experience participants may apply to be crew members for season productions.

After completing this introductory class, CYC participants (grade 8+) may continue to Level 2 where they learn from professional mentors in a one-on-one apprenticeship.
