Improv: Setting the Scene
Instructor: Kristina Smarz
Registration opens October 22, 6 pm
In Setting the Scene participants will work on two-person and group scenes with an emphasis on agreement, listening, and heightening. Participants will utilize scene structure to build and develop character and richer emotional bonds which will, in turn, create momentum to propel scene work. Additional technical skills will be developed such as editing, heightening, and game, all working towards the culmination of deeper, satisfying scene work that can be applied to a variety of performed mediums. This class requires a basic understanding of core improv principles and is great for those who have taken an intro class and are looking to build on that, intermediate improvisers, or experienced improvisers looking to strengthen and ground their scene work.
