The "Crows of the Desert" exhibit currently on display, features the work of photographer Levon Parian who will be attending the screening of the documentary film “Crows of the Desert - A Hero’s Journey Through the Armenian Genocide" for a Q&A after the screening. "Crows" will be shown at the Mosesian on October 7, 2018 at 4:30pm with a reception following.

Levon Parian is a renowned photographic artist whose images live between the philosophy and poetry of the human condition. He finds it challenging to walk the thin line between commercial and fine art. His experimental style and award winning work has influenced the photographic industry and he has been published and exhibited around the world.

He was honored with his artistic colleagues by Foreign Policy Magazine as being “among the 100 leading global thinkers of 2015.” The award was for “preserving the history of a genocide” through the innovative, larger-than-life public installation “iwitness,” showcasing portraits of Armenian Genocide survivors created in commemoration of the 100th anniversary. The installation was the first of its kind in Los Angeles’ landmark Grand Park. Levon currently teaches photography through the art department of California State University at Northridge.

At the request of his father, Levon began editing his grandfather’s memoirs in 2009. His mother Victoria translated the original memoirs written in Armenian to English. Levon researched for 3 years to connect all the dots, putting photos, maps and documents together to make his grandfather’s memoirs come to life. He finally self published “Crows of the Desert” in 2012. Soon after in 2013, based up the memoirs, production began on the award winning documentary “Crows of the Desert - A Hero’s Journey Through the Armenian Genocide.”
