A high-strung Chicago marketing executive (Steve Martin) encounters a series of mishaps when trying to fly home from New York and acquires a loquacious shower curtain ring salesman (John Candy) as an unwelcome travel companion when their plane gets diverted to Wichita. This odd couple sets off on a three-day odyssey of misadventure, by every possible means of transportation, just hoping to make it home in time for Thanksgiving dinner.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is part of our Road Trippin’ Summer Film Series. All are welcome, but early registration is encouraged. Admission is free, and donations are gratefully accepted. A donation of any amount helps to support free programming such as this film series, plus the operational costs of our educational, performing, visual, and literary arts programs. A donation in the amount of $25 or more qualifies for Mosesian Arts membership.
