Foundations of Improv Comedy
Improv at MCA

Foundations of Improv Comedy focuses on the skills necessary to improvise in any format. While being thoughtfully led through games, exercises, and two-person scenes, participants will explore concepts of acceptance, support, trust, teamwork, confidence, commitment, spontaneity, and most of all, fun. Together, in a safe, supportive space, we will learn new skills, make new friends and challenge ourselves out of our daily norms. This class is appropriate for beginners who have never performed before as well as seasoned veterans who would like to revisit fundamental skills, improve their performance, and remember why improv is so much fun to begin with.

Mondays, 6:00-8:00 PM
September 9-November 4
9 weeks with an open performance the final week

Please note: You will be purchasing a "ticket" to attend the class. Your confirmation email will be a ticket to the first class date, but it will be unnecessary to bring it with you. Please contact info@mosesianarts with any questions.

Teaching Artist Statement

Everyone has a unique story to tell and something valuable to share with an audience. In making theater, we create a community. We share a common space, experience emotions, and leave changed having shared an experience to which no one else can lay claim. As a teacher, my role is to create a safe space where students can explore, create, and connect with themselves, thereby building on strengths and overcoming challenges. My goal is to support my students with enthusiasm, openness, and honesty.
