Experimental Printmaking - Project Development
Instructor: Boriana Kantcheva
Work with experienced printmaker Boriana Kantcheva on individual projects. This 8-week class is offered to students with previous knowledge of techniques such as collagraph, monotype, monoprint and relief printmaking. Students will work on projects of their own choosing with the help of the instructor. Students will have the opportunity to develop a body of work that utilizes a variety of techniques such as making collagraph plates, monoprints, dry point, and collage. Students will be shown how to work on varied editions and introduce some mixed media techniques in their work. Prints will be generated by using a small press and by methods that do not require the use of a press such as Gelli plate printing and others.
*Most materials such as inks, rollers, Plexiglass plate, newsprint, and cleaning materials will be provided. Students will be responsible for getting their own printmaking paper. Prior to the beginning of the class students will be sent options for different printmaking papers that can be purchased at an art store or online.

Class includes additional time, right after class. Students can stay and work after class on their own until 3:00 PM.
