Allison Honea, WCT Education Co-Director

Allison is a choreographer, performer, director, and teaching artist originally from Atlanta, GA. She graduated as the top BSEd Theatre Education major from Columbus State University and studied Theatre History and Commedia dell’arte in Florence, Italy on a full scholarship. Allison moved to the Boston area in 2014 to earn her MA in Theatre Education at Emerson College, where she focused on the use of Theatre and Dance for social change. She was a workshop presenter at the American Alliance for Theatre Education’s 2016 conference. Allison has worked with Cambridge Public Schools, Jeannette Neill Dance Studio, Onstage Dance Company, and more. Some of her favorite choreography credits include Once on This Island, Kiss Me Kate, Beauty and the Beast, and Shrek the Musical. Allison is the Watertown Children’s Theatre Education Co-Director.

 

Deidre Purcell, WCT Productions & Communications Manager

Teaching Artist, Playwriting

Deidre Purcell received her BA in Theatre Arts from Drew University, and her MA in Theatre Education from Emerson College. She recently completed her MA in Counseling Psychology at Lesley University. Since beginning in 2004 as the Stage Manager for Bye Bye Birdie, she has been the stage manager, production manager, and public relations specialist for WCT at various times, as well as teaching playwriting, directing summer programs, and adapting scripts.
