The PBS science series NOVA and Wayside Youth & Family Support Network's Multi-Service Center invite you to a screening of the documentary Addiction followed by a panel discussion about the deadliest drug epidemic in U.S. history and potential solutions.
NOVA Addiction is a new documentary examining how easy access to drugs like heroin, fentanyl, and even prescription medications like OxyContin has fueled an epidemic of addiction. Now, science is revealing how addiction affects the brain, and top experts are gathering evidence about how we should address our drug problem, from embracing evidence-based treatments, to rethinking public policies.
Join us after the film for a panel conversation and audience Q&A with addiction and mental health experts who will discuss how the stigma surrounding addiction prevents people from seeking treatment and what we can do to change the conversation.
Light refreshments served at 6pm. Screening starts at 6:30pm.
Raffle prizes will be drawn for registered attendees!
